  2. Attend the CLA Orientation session and meet with your CLA advisor regarding your CLA Liberal Arts requirements. The S&TC major is housed in the Communications and Media student community

Returning Students

If you were previously a student at the Twin Cities campus and are returning to the University of Minnesota, you need to apply for a transfer at the Office of Admissions on the campus where you last attended classes. If you attended a different college or university, follow the guidelines listed on this site.

Transfer Students

See The College of Liberal Arts transfer information and follow the process for transferring to CLA. Of the 37 credits required for the S&TC major, 18 must be completed at the University of Minnesota. You are required to complete all specific course and other program requirements regardless of the number of credits accepted for transfer.

University Honors Program

Beginning in the fall of 2008, the University Honors Program (UHP) will bring together opportunities and programs for honors students in all U of M-Twin Cities colleges. You are automatically considered for UHP when you submit your application to become a University of Minnesota student.
