Centers & Programs

Center for Writing
Through individual consultations, workshops, and research grants, the Center for Writing supports the work of all University of Minnesota students, faculty, and staff engaged in the practice, teaching, and study of writing. The Center for Writing houses five connected programs: Student Writing Support, Teaching with Writing, Interdisciplinary Studies of Writing, the Graduate Minor in Literacy and Rhetorical Studies, and the Minnesota Writing Project.

Second Language Studies
The Program in Second Language Studies focuses on the broad field of applied linguistics, uniting research, teaching, and service in addressing the second language learning needs of adult learners in the university and the wider community.
